Web Developer

Based in Norwich

GML are looking for an enthusiastic web developer to work in their busy development team. We are an innovative and flourishing company who have an impressive suite of PHP based websites, web systems and applications, and an ever increasing client list.

Principal Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying and maintaining websites and web applications. Utilising the Laravel framework, you will be working closely with graphic designers to convert drafts into fully-functioning interactive and database-driven websites. From brochure-style through to e-commerce websites, and web applications you will have the skills to deliver consistently to project specifications and schedules. You will be keen to learn new techniques and technologies. 

Ideally you will have both front and back end skills consisting of the following:

Essential Skills

  • PHP
  • MVC Frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter
  • MySQL
  • JavaScript and jQuery
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • Photoshop

Desired Skills

  • VueJS
  • Composer
  • Command Line 
  • Less/SASS
  • Bootstrap 3
  • Version Control (Git)

Additionally, as a strong team player you will have the ability to work together or unsupervised and (at times) under pressure, fully testing through your work. Interaction between departments is vital therefore you will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and of course a great sense of humour.
