Firefox Hello!

Millie

Firefox Hello allows you to chat to whoever you want over a video or voice call completely free via the browser. It’s the first of its kind that doesn’t involve supplying all sorts of personal information or downloading software.

What do you need: The latest version of Firefox (look for the ‘Hello’ icon; it’s a smiley face in a speech bubble in the top right hand corner of the browser)

What does it do: Connect for free over video with anyone, anywhere.

“See for yourself how easy it is to have a free video conversation with anyone, anywhere, right from your browser.”

You can add contacts manually or import contacts from the address book on your Google account by simply signing in and giving permission. Once you’re online and you wish to talk to someone, send an invitation, they will then be required to accept and then you can video or voice chat away!

In the future Firefox Hello aims to help become a comprehensive and productive tool for communicating over the web whether that be for work or personal use.
